tao_fake makes the transaction not really start a DB transaction at all (the connection works without transactions). tao_fakeretaining is for backends without native CommitRetaining/RollbackRetaining (e.g. Postgres, unlike Firebird): it simulates them by closing and reopening the transaction — unlike with a real retaining commit/rollback, bookmarks taken before it become invalid. RollbackRetaining always refetches the bound datasets; on CommitRetaining this only happens if tao_refreshdatasets is also set (useful to pick up changes made by other sessions) — datasets that were inactive are reactivated either way.
