pqco_usesavepoint (set by default) wraps every executed statement in a SAVEPOINT/RELEASE SAVEPOINT, rolling back to the savepoint on failure, so a single failed statement does not abort the whole Postgres transaction — at the cost of an extra round-trip per statement. pqco_closetransactiononfail closes the transaction on a failed statement instead.
